Thursday Thrift Store Finds- Silver BIrch...

Image
I do love the hunt, finding and using vintage teacups and saucers daily is the thrill for me.  Here are 100 different cups and saucers from my personal collection, photo I took and shared with my classes for our 100 day of school slide show. Each of these tea cups gets used an awful lot in my house and most days I use at least two.  This particular teacup and saucer I am showcasing today is a Royal Albert Silver Birch, I started to collect it when I found it in a second hand shop for $5.99 about 5 years ago, I have nick named this set my midlife crisis china as I have been picking up pieces of it whenever I can. It has a lovely scene of birch trees and flowers, reminding me of my grandparents cottage in Arundel, Quebec, on a lake called Bevan. Memories of these silver birch trees stick with me to this days.  As I type todays post I am sipping a lovely tisane out of this very cup. These cups go for about $20 now in thrift stores near me but you can find them on Etsy...

Autumn In The Wizarding World Cross Stich Kit

Image
Back in May I found the courage and inspiration to order and try a new to me craft. I have never done cross stitch but found that when my beloved sister in law was here and she was plugging away at hers, there was an aura of calm and serene that exuded from her as she stitched away. One night in May we were messaging about crafting and I sent her the amazon link to this cross stich and asked her if she though I could do it, she said it would be easy. When it arrived I opened it, immediately felt intimidated by the entire other language it seemed to be written in and panicked. I messaged my sister in law and admitted defeat for the night, put it away and thought I will tackle it when school ends. I packed it to take to Nanaimo with me where I was going to have time to decompress and give it a go. Then when I was packing the car, I left the bag with it and my tea items in the living room of my house and drove to the ferry... I only realized the next morning. A few days ago, sidelin...

Image
I have been working on some tiny Sea Goddess dolls, these will be for Yule. I have made them about half the size of my regular dolls and I am very excited with how they have turned out. I also will me making more I have just got to go forage for some new tiny drift wood.  Making these little witch and goddess dolls brings me so much joy. I hope that in sharing them you feel it too. Blessed Be.

The Witch Basket Bath Products I bought at Phoenix Rising in Langley BC

Image
Last week I went out to a wonderful store called Phoenix Rising in Langley BC.  Though it is about an hour away from where I live it is so worth the drive. I bought myself some "Cottage Witch" Witch Dust Bubble Bath and I am so glad that I did.  The line of products that the store carried was impressive and i had to hold back. I was drawn to the SEA WITCH first but the scent of the COTTAGE WITCH was the one that ultimately came home. I sprinkled the smallest amount of this in my tub and I was so impressed by the amount of bubbles and the way it made me feel. This is a line of products I am sure to buy again and to learn more about the company that produces it called THE WITCH BASKET please click here.   I was thrilled to learn that this is a local company and the fact that this is First Nations owned made it even more sweet.  Blessed Be and thank you for joining me.

Foraging On The Full Moon For Tisanes And Bath Ingredients

Image
The Full Buck Moon was Wednesday and I was able to do something I have wanted to do for a while now and that is forage for some flowers, herbs and even weeds that I can use in my personal tea bending. My morning tea photo on Wednesday shown above, a rescued teacup I love and the only one I have that is a Spencer Stevenson black and white animal and cloud set that I found in 2016 at a thrift store. I played $11.99 for it if I remember correctly, but it was so witchy I could not leave it behind.   A friend of mine has an enchanted back yard and possessed knowledge of plants, that is second to none. she and I wandered through her yard in the hot summer sun and she kindly cut me some much desired items for my tisanes and for my apothecary.  Tarragon, Chickweed, Calendula, Ladies Mantle, Borage and red clover and fennel are now drying over my tea table.    I added mint and orange mint from my own garden when I got home. In the photo I am using the curtain rod ...

Thursday Thrift Store Fun Finds

Image
This week I wanted  to start a Thursday feature I will call Thursday Thrift store finds. Now this weeks gem is a true favorite of mine found at a local Salvation Army store. I found this Royal Albert Treasure Chest Series beauty about 5 years ago now.  One of the things I like most about this beautiful set is the color, there is something very regal feeling about a dark blue and gold teacup. While I do collect teacups, I use them, daily, often more than one a day and they bring me such joy. My cupboards are over flowing with treasures to share so I hope you will join me for more of these Thursday Thrift Store Fun Finds.

Summer Full Moon Tonight, Preparing a Moon Bath

Image
The full summer buck Moon is tonight, and I took out my Moon Bath book by Dakota Hills and Sierra Brashear. This book is one that I was thrilled to preview years ago on NetGalley and I loved it so much in the digital copy that I knew I wanted to have the hard cover book for my shelves. I guess I am old fashioned that way. This is an inspiring book of baths, recipes and lore.  As I prepare my bath recipe and brose through the book I keep getting inspired by what I read. Pairing my herbal current favorite tea a chamomile, vanilla and honey Twining's London tea. You may notice in the photo that I have a green silk bag, this is for the petals if you don't want them floating down the drain, I like to float mine loose but the bag does help to collect them before they go down with the draining water. I love that there are pages of sayings that make you pause and help you to breathe and stay in the moment.  The recipe I am using is the Summer Full Moon recipe and I am adding a ...
