Tea Witch Hobby, The Goddess Dolls and Witch Dolls I Make

Image
About three years ago I took an amazing class with an amazing instructor Melany O'Leary, here on the North Shore of Vancouver. We did a guided meditation and then she showed us how to make our dolls. I was hooked. I love making these dolls for myself, for friends and for my monthly swaps I do through some Facebook groups I belong to.  I hope you will indulge me with a look at some of the dolls I make.  Since that class I have been foraging for drift wood, collecting vintage handkerchiefs and napkins, bits and bobs that call to me, found shells and purchased shells along with yarn and fibers that I make into these dolls that I just love. The faces I use a mold, or do by hand. These are all a mold.  It may sound weird but each of these dolls call to me to be made, it is almost a full meditation when I work and I can tune all the things around me out and just create.  I made this mother and daughter set for a swap a few months ago and it was hard to part with! I made them so they co

Treasured "Heals All Waffles"

Image
Is there anything more comforting than fresh golden waffles? Ok maybe there is to you but the comfort and nourishment these waffles bring me and others is truly something special that I would like to share. The simple act of making and preparing the recipe below shows its intention. You can change the "me" to "you" or "us" and have the same results every time. Here is the recipe incantation: " Flour to sustain me,  Sugar to sweeten me,  Baking Powder to help me rise,  Salt to protect me." 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour 2 tbsp sugar (white, brown or honey) 2 tsp baking powder A pinch of salt 1 egg (you can use egg substitute) 1 cup of milk (any kind or yogurt) 2 tbsp Melted butter or vegetable oil * at times of a need for a little extra comfort or protection I add vanilla 1 tsp and a dash of cinnamon Mix the first four ingredients in a bowl while saying the about incantation, mix together with a spatula or spoon of your choice, make a well in t

Saturday's Fun Finds, Thrifting for Teacups

Image
If you are on my instagram @teawitchchornicles   you already saw my post above showing some of the teacups at one of the thrift stores I visit.  I went for a salad spinner and left with many other things.... I ended up with a (not that I needed it) New to me Ulsterweaver Teapot with Dogs on it, I love it! It was $7.99  and had never even been used. As well as a trinket dish that is made by Elizabethan Fine China, the center says Victoria British Columbia, I grabbed it for $3.99 a little more than I would have normally paid but as I am currently planning on being on Vancouver Island for Canada Day, I thought it would make a nice offering bowl with my morning photos.  One of the cups and saucers I grabbed off of another shelf full of bone china was this lovely set. It has no identifying marks but I have had one treasured cup and saucer just like it but in pinks and yellows that was hand painted and from Germany. Sadly it had a hairline crack after many wonderful uses and I no longer h

Magic In The Everyday, Part Of My Morning Ritual

Last Fall I came to learn about the wonderful pod cast by Jennie Blonde and her Comfy Cozy Witch Podcast. I very quickly binged listened to her podcasts and felt like I was spending time with a kindred spirit. I also came to learn that she has begun self publishing her books on Amazon and since December 27th, 2021 I have added her book Magic In The Everyday to my morning ritual. I absolutely look forward to writing in it each and every morning. I love how the pages are set up and it makes it easy to journal about what is on my mind or what I dreamt about. I have purchased 3 so far, ( I am in book 3) and it is offered at $16.16 at the moment on Amazon.ca if you want to take a look please click here. I am not an Amazon affiliate. Just want to share an amazing resource from my journeys.  If you have not yet heard about the amazing Jennie Blonde and her Podcast I believe you can click this link to listen and learn more.  You can now find me on instagram as @https://www.instagram.com/tea

A Passion For Rescuing Teacups

Image
I have a passion for teacups and all things tea. On a recent trip to Nanaimo BC, on Vancouver Island I came across this amazing tea cup. It was buried at the back of a shelf in their Value Village, priced at $4.99 and its message could not have been clearer. I have been in a state of flux for many years now and longing to put down roots with my new partner and our family. He and I have been making little trips to the island from our home on the west coast. I have been longing to find a place we can live and put down roots. I don't currently feel that is possible where I am now. I have a 3-5 year plan at the moment to do just that. My boys are older now and the youngest has about 3 years left of high school. Sharing custody with their father at the moment and not wanting to uproot and change them on a dime, I am just now since May putting things in place, putting it out into the universe and with a little luck and hard work I just might be able to make it work. Here is a bi
