Saturday's Fun Finds, Thrifting for Teacups
If you are on my instagram @teawitchchornicles you already saw my post above showing some of the teacups at one of the thrift stores I visit. I went for a salad spinner and left with many other things....
I ended up with a (not that I needed it) New to me Ulsterweaver Teapot with Dogs on it, I love it! It was $7.99 and had never even been used. As well as a trinket dish that is made by Elizabethan Fine China, the center says Victoria British Columbia, I grabbed it for $3.99 a little more than I would have normally paid but as I am currently planning on being on Vancouver Island for Canada Day, I thought it would make a nice offering bowl with my morning photos.
One of the cups and saucers I grabbed off of another shelf full of bone china was this lovely set. It has no identifying marks but I have had one treasured cup and saucer just like it but in pinks and yellows that was hand painted and from Germany. Sadly it had a hairline crack after many wonderful uses and I no longer have it.
$6.99 is about the right price for these in post covid shopping times, before this set would have been $3.99-$4.99. For me this set was love at first sight and priced reasonably enough that I could not leave it behind.
It washed up beautifully, however the way this shop tapes them together it removed some of the gold from the rim. It pairs lovely with the Drink Tea card from the Self Care Oracle deck don't you think?
I was pleasantly surprised to find that my Tarot Box beautifully complimented my Sunday morning tea photo.
Rescuing this set really brightened my Saturday and renewed the belief that these cups have so much life still to give, and they are a huge part of my morning ritual.
Thank you for stopping by today. Blessed Be.
